Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention in Colorado
The abuse and misuse of prescription drugs in Colorado is one of the state’s major public health crises.

As the opioid and prescription drug misuse and abuse crisis continues to escalate in Colorado and across the nation, communities and organizations are looking for strategies and tools to address the epidemic and protect their communities. To help support them, the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention (the Consortium) has developed a Community Reference. The Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health gave assistance and provided financial support for the project.

Join the Voices for Recovery: Celebrating Connections
It is estimated that 22.35 million (9.1%) Americans are in recovery from a substance use disorder (SUD) (Kelly et al., 2017). Thirty-one years ago SAMHSA designated September as Recovery Month with the goal of changing the public face of recovery by educating Americans that SUD treatment and recovery support services help individuals live healthy and rewarding lives in their communities.

Recovery Hero: Dan Hugill
My name is Dan Hugill and I have been in recovery for 6 years, since July 23rd 2014. During that time my accomplishments include working for the Phoenix and through them becoming a state certified peer specialist. I received the CrossFit level 2 certification, the olympic lifting level 1, NASM youth exercise specialist certification and my tai chi chuan certification.

We need you to help us end the stigma.
Seventy-two percent of Coloradans suffering from substance use disorder are concerned about what would happen if someone knew they were addicted. Our goal is to end the stigma surrounding this disease. Your donation to Springs Recovery Connection helps us offer a big dose of HOPE to those who ask for help.
Help us end the stigma and start the conversation about recovery in our community.
