Hi friends,
We wanted to take a moment to share some important updates on the House of Hope and to say thank you!
On February 9th, we officially closed on our women’s sober living home, the House of Hope. This moment represented years of prayer, planning, and partnership, and we’ve been overwhelmed with gratitude for every person who has played a part in bringing this vision to life.

Just a couple of weeks later, on February 26th, we gathered for the ribbon-cutting. The ribbon was cut by our house naming donor, Chris Shee. It was a meaningful day for our team and our community. To stand in that space and see it ready to welcome women in, which was something we won’t forget.
A special thank you goes to Joshua Day, @askthebutcher, at @homeboygoods for his incredible generosity and support. He not only contributed a significant portion of the food, covering nearly 70% of the cost, but also donated his time and culinary talent to help make the event truly memorable. The quality and care behind every detail did not go unnoticed by our guests.
We are deeply grateful for partners like Chris Shee, Joshua Day and so many others, whose commitment and generosity help bring moments like this to life.

Then on March 2nd, we officially opened the doors and welcomed our first three women into the home, alongside our house manager, Kristy.
Women’s House Motto:
Through grace and unity, we find our strength. When I fall, my sisters will lift me; when they fall, I will lift them.

Welcome, Kristy Schaffer, to our Team!
Kristy Schaffer is the Women’s House Manager at Comeback Recovery Homes. Here's a bit of her testimony:
For years, I was lost in addiction, in the legal system, and most importantly, in my own identity. I did not know who I was, what I stood for, or how to face the pain I carried.
2023 marked the end of a long journey, one filled with struggle, despair, and hopelessness, and started the beginning of a lifelong journey of surrender and transformation. Recovery, for me, did not start with sobriety. It started with honesty. Sobriety is an action; honesty is a posture. With facing the truth about my choices, my wounds, and the consequences that followed. And as I began to walk that path on September 20, 2023, I discovered something deeper than just freedom from addiction-I found purpose, grace, and the strength to become the person God always intended me to be. In recovery, I found a new way of life.
Working with others in recovery has taught me the true meaning of brotherly love, compassion, and empathy. It is in the shared stories, the silent tears, and the victories—big and small—that I have come to understand what it means to truly walk beside someone. Recovery is not a solo journey; it is built on connection, on showing up for each other, and on believing in someone even when they cannot believe in themselves.
In 2024, I was introduced to Chad and Meredith at the Scars Under the Stars fundraising event for our first women’s recovery home. I was immediately drawn to their passion and dedication to recovery. It is rare to find a group so aligned in purpose, and I am grateful to stand alongside each of them as we work to restore hope, rebuild lives, and become the men and women God created us to be.

Watching the House Become a Home
A Special Thank You to Our Donors & Supporters
Since opening, we’ve been watching this house slowly come together, and it’s because of you. To every individual donor, church, business, and community group who has come alongside this vision, thank you. We are truly grateful.
Your generosity has helped secure this home, furnish the rooms, stock the kitchen, and create a safe, welcoming space for the women who walk through our doors. From Amazon Wishlist items to meals, services, and in-kind donations like clothing, furniture, books, kitchen essentials, and electronics, every contribution has played a part.
Because of you, bedrooms are being filled, the kitchen is being stocked, and this house is becoming a place where women can begin again. We’re already seeing it with shared meals, meaningful conversations, and a growing sense of stability.
House of Hope is one more step in removing barriers to recovery so women can focus on healing, not just survival. Together, Comeback Recovery Homes and Recovery RX are committed to walking alongside women as they move toward stable, healthy, and independent lives.
Thank you for being part of this with us.
