A Month of Celebrations!

This January is a big month for us, as we celebrate four major milestones.

As we celebrate our fifth birthday as a nonprofit organization, a second reason for celebration occurred: opening our first recovery living home. This milestone was our five-year plan, and we did it! These five years, and especially this major milestone, could not have happened without the support of each and every one of you. We are so grateful for your continued support by word of mouth, and your generous gifts.

And now we push forward with a third reason for celebration; expansion. This Saturday, January 25, we are officially launching into serving Ocala, Marion County, and the surrounding areas, with our first major event, Ruck for Recovery, taking place in person at the Baseline Road Trailhead, as well as virtually. We have been serving sponsees in the area for years, but our expansion of our operation into Marion is official now.

And finally, we are celebrating our founder, Chad's, 7th year of continuous sobriety. Without that, none of the other stuff would be possible to celebrate.

Comeback Recovery Homes OPEN

Throughout the process of opening this recovery living home, one theme has remained constant. Every person we have dealt with; grant writing organizations, tradesman, realtors, and public officials have all been affected by addiction. I can’t think of one interaction that Meredith and I had where the person on the other end of the phone or computer didn’t have a story about themselves or a loved one. This has been our motivation to have faith in God's plan for us.

To say that this process has been challenging and frustrating is an understatement, but God is always faithful. At times our resolve wavered, but we would quickly receive the next signal that we were doing exactly what we were supposed to be doing. This house will be the center of the community we are building and will serve the recovery community for years to come.

We cannot say enough about the support we have received from all of you. Our pledge to you is that we will use every resource that we have been blessed with to change lives.

We are officially to serve men in recovery. It's so exciting to finally be able to walk around inside it and visualize the lives and activities that will occupy this space very soon. We will be able to house up to 10 men comfortably in this home. We have had all mattresses, couches, dining table and chairs, dressers, and nightstands donated by Woodchuck's Fine Furniture and Decor! An Invitation to Ruck for Recovery

At 7 AM on January 25, we’re going to kick off a 12 hour rucking event to raise money for Recovery RX. This fundraising event is designated for our operating budget, which pays for treatment and sober living arrangements for people in need who come to us for help.

This event is completely family friendly. You can come out and do one hour or come out and do the whole 12. You can ruck it, run it, walk it, skate it, or just come to visit. Whatever works for you. We just want you to come celebrate the gifts of recovery with us, and get some good PT in with some friends. You can sign up here: here. An event t-shirt is included with registration.
