A Letter from Robert J. Lindsey
Chief Executive Officer

Friends,

The holidays are once again upon us; and while we focus on the joy and gratitude of recovery for ourselves and our families, it's also important to remember that this time of year can present a variety of challenges for those in recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction - holiday parties, family gatherings, shopping, fatigue, sugar overload, etc. Clearly, the season can be daunting for anyone; but those in recovery face unique challenges. FOR-NY Recovery Talks:
Making Recovery Voices Count
by Stephanie Campbell, FOR-NY Director of Policy

FOR-NY, in collaboration with local Recovery Community Organizations (RCO's) around New York State, has taken recovery on the road with the "Recovery Talks - Community Listening Forums". ON THE ROAD

The FOR-NY team continues to participate in recovery-focused events, conferences and trainings, and to meet with local RCOs and RCCs throughout New York.

FOR-NY attended a MARS Project one-day training on Recovery Coach Supervision held on November 16th at the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. The pilot course was designed to provide guidance and resources for supervisors of recovery coaches. Highlights of the event included recovery coach training, credentialing, ethical issues; and how supervision of recovery coaches differ from clinical supervision.
