Recovery Works!
The mission of Chester County Department of Drug and Alcohol Services is to ensure that quality alcohol and other drug intervention and treatment, as well as alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention programs are provided for citizens in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
As guidelines related to COVID-19 begin to relax, a sense of "normalcy" is returning. However, many may still be facing feelings of anxiety and stress. It is important to give yourself grace, but also recognize help and resources are available.

PA Start Campaign

In 2015, the Commonwealth Prevention Alliance (CPA), created the PA Stop campaign to educate on the risks of prescription painkiller and heroin use, the relationship between painkiller and heroin use, and what to do when you need help. In addition to these efforts, CPA recognizes the need for primary prevention as well which is why they also created PA Start.

The PA Start campaign is focused on building healthy, capable children. This is done by providing free, thought-provoking materials that pose a question about an important lesson or milestone. Then a positive action is suggested.

Click here to download materials (posters, flyers, digital ads, and video public service announcements) which can be used for promoting proven, evidence-based programs.

PA Start is paid for by Pennsylvania taxpayer dollars and made possible by a grant from the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
