Your Small Biz Update
From Clark County Purchasing
June 1, 2020
Greetings!

Clark County's fiscal year is winding to an end as we prepare to launch a new fiscal year on July 1st. The SBOP team continues to watch new developments with the COVID-19 crisis to gauge how we can best support our small business community during the recovery process.

Although no one can predict exactly what will happen as everyone works toward reopening, one thing is certain, Clark County will continue to serve the public while we work to place training opportunities back on schedule.

If you have questions about how to proceed toward reopening your business be sure to tune in online for tonight's Small Business Tele-Town Hall Meeting hosted by Commissioner Weekly. Below you will find all of the details you need to participate. You will also find information about recently-announced emergency funding sources, and more. Hope you will join in the town hall meeting!

Wishing you and your business well,

Adleen B. Stidhum

Emergency Funding Sources to Check Out
Cities of Las Vegas and Henderson
If your business is licensed within the City of Las Vegas, or located in a redevelopment area of the City of Henderson, you may qualify to receive a grant or loan through one of these programs.

City of Las Vegas Business Preparedness Grant
Small businesses with 3 to 25 full-time employees and licensed in the City of Las Vegas are eligible for grant funding up to $4,000 to use for personal protection equipment (PPE) and reopening expenses. The City has set aside $4 million for this program and it will be distributed on a first come, first served basis to eligible businesses. There is a goal to have 50% of the approved applicants located in underserved communities.

PPP Assistance - Redevelopment Area Businesses in Henderson
If your small business is located in a redevelopment area of the City of Henderson, you may now apply for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) directly with the National Development Council (NDC), a Community Development Financial Institution at  www.ndconline.org/ppp . The City said it hopes its longstanding relationship with the NDC will help to facilitate successful applications. For a map of redevelopment areas within the City of Henderson, please click  here .

COVID Testing Sites
Where to Find Them
If you or someone you know needs information about where to get tested for COVID-19, the following links may help.

  • Visit the Clark County Website for a list of sites that "will test adults who meet CDC and state and local guidelines on who should be tested, including first responders, health care providers and others with symptoms of COVID-19 and those in high risk groups without symptoms." There is no out-of-pocket cost.

  • Clark County and University Medical Center have partnered with CPL to provide drive-through testing (by appointment only) in the parking lot of the Orleans Hotel and Casino, free of charge to anyone who is uninsured. You can schedule an appointment through the COVID-19 Testing Center on UMC's website at www.umcsn.com.
