Dear Residents of Herons Glen,
Correction - Board Meeting Date: Please note there was a typo in the “Board Meeting Notes” email sent on Friday. The HGRD Board of Supervisors meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 21st, not September 28th. We apologize for any confusion and appreciate your understanding.
Procedure During Lightning Warnings: We would like to clarify our expectations and ensure everyone follows a consistent procedure. Under Herons Glen’s rules, when the lightning warning system activates and the siren sounds, all recreation activities, including golf, must stop immediately and everyone using the golf course and other outdoor recreational facilities is required to leave the outdoor area and seek shelter. Play may not resume until the all-clear signal has sounded.
For golfers who are on the course when a lightning warning is issued, the Rangers, while returning from the course, will make a reasonable effort to notify any golfers they encounter that the warning has sounded.
Fitness Center Cell Phone Use: As a courtesy to others, please refrain from talking on your cell phone while in the fitness center. Cell phone conversations can be disruptive to those exercising nearby. Several signs are posted throughout the fitness center regarding cell phone use, and we ask all residents and guests to be considerate of others and observe proper fitness center etiquette.
Golf Course Superintendent Day: On September 8th, the USGA celebrated Golf Course Superintendent Day, recognizing the important contributions of golf course superintendents across the country. We were pleased to see our own, Tim Kortanek, featured in the USGA’s national promotional email commemorating the occasion.
