At Dark: Fireworks Start

Pierson Park

The Village of Tarrytown is hosting its annual Independence Day fireworks, featuring a special display to celebrate America's 250th anniversary! Fireworks are set to begin at dark and will be launched from a barge on the river. KickStart Charlie is returning to the stage with another energetic performance. Kid friendly fun: face painting & bouncy castle! NEW this year in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, live Jazz music to kick off music on the stage.

Confirmed food vendors that will surely get you craving for MORE: Wanna Empanada, Cousins Maine Lobster, Crazy Taco-Mex, Mostly Dough Mobile Pizza, Mr. Softee/Nathans Famous, Duck Donuts & Jimmy's Soft Serve, Gina's Foods, Mr. Frosty, Scotty’s Egg Rolls, Flavors for Neighbors & Three Little Pigs!

It is STRONGLY recommended that you take the train into Tarrytown due to expected HEAVY traffic. In the event of rain, we will only be postponing the fireworks display if there are unsafe thunder and lightning conditions at the time of expected launch. Please check the Village homepage if there are any questions.

Watch the night sky over the Hudson River burst into color!

If you live within walking distance, it is highly recommended that you walk to the park. If visiting from outside of Tarrytown, taking the train is the best way to get to Pierson Park due to limited parking and traffic congestion in the immediate area. Vehicular access to our riverfront will be limited from approximately 6:00 PM through the conclusion of the fireworks display. **Please note that there is a scheduled Yankee game that night too and parking will be even more limited.**

The following municipalities will NOT be having fireworks displays on July 4th. Parking is expected to be available at the Metro North stations in:

  • Cortlandt
  • Croton-on-Hudson
  • Ossining
  • Ardsley
  • Hastings

Please be sure to follow all posted parking regulations.

Once the "H-bridge" closes down (approximately 6:30 p.m. OR earlier if the lots fill up), cars will not be permitted to exit until the "H-bridge" opens again (contingent upon pedestrian traffic clearing up after the fireworks conclude).

In anticipation of the Independence Day festivities, the Tarrytown Fitness Center and Pool will be closing early.

Please note the adjusted schedule below:

  • 2:30 PM – Pools and pool deck will be cleared.
  • 3:00 PM – The Recreation Center (including the fitness center, locker rooms, and restrooms) will close.
  • 3:00 PM – Recreation Parking Lot E (the lot directly in front of the Recreation Center) MUST be entirely cleared.
⚠️ Important Parking Note: Any vehicles remaining in Lot E after 3:00 PM will be ticketed and/or towed.

Thank you for your cooperation, and have a safe and happy holiday!

Independence Day: Saturday, July 4th

"Let the annual return of this day forever refresh our recollections of these rights, and an undiminished devotion to them."

— Thomas Jefferson

The 4th of July is a wonderful time for celebration, but it is also a powerful reminder of the courage it takes to build and sustain a nation. As we gather with neighbors, we look back with gratitude at the visionary pioneers who had the bravery to lead our country in a bold new direction. At the same time, we extend our deepest thanks to the dedicated men and women who have fought—and continue to fight—to protect our freedom and preserve our independence today.

We hope everyone enjoys the holiday festivities and the time spent together as a community.

Happy Independence Day!
