Despite the rainy weather, Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks kicked off its Spring Lacrosse & Soccer seasons at 56 locations this past weekend. This spring the Department has 188 lacrosse teams and 400 soccer teams registered. Camp F.I.R.E. - First Introduction to Rescue and EMS

Join your Anne Arundel County Firefighters for an awesome time to learn what it's like to be a firefighter and paramedic in our community. Every day is an adventure as a first responder. Learn CPR, how to put on our gear, and what equipment we carry on our fire engines. Camp F.I.R.E. available the weeks of July 17 and August 21. More info and registration here.

A public meeting is scheduled to discuss plans for building a living shoreline at Historic Hancock’s Resolution southwest of Bayside Beach Rd and Point Lookout Cove Rd. The shoreline will help to prevent further erosion. More info here.

A public meeting is scheduled to discuss planned improvements to the Mayo Beach Park Day Camp Building located at 4150 Honeysuckle Drive in Edgewater. The project plans to raze and rebuild the building being used for day camp and general storage. The new design will allow for increased programs and services for the Day Camp, as well as a more efficient storage layout. More info here.
A Tribute to The Old 4th Ward Ribbon Cutting
Please join County Executive Steuart Pittman, the Department of Recreation and Parks, and others for a Tribute to the Old 4th Ward - A Community Celebration, on Saturday, April 15 at 11:00am, at People's Park in Annapolis. The community will unveil new storyboards in honor of the Old 4th Ward in Annapolis and celebrate its vibrant history and the community that was once thriving on this site.

In celebration of Maryland Day the Department of Recreation and Parks will offer FREE entry all weekend to Quiet Waters Park, Kinder Farm Park, Downs Park, and Fort Smallwood Park. Plus, Free activities at Hancock's Resolution, Linthicum Walks, Historic London Town and Gardens, and Bacon Ridge. More information here.
