New! Recreational Tree Climbing for Kids at Whiting Forest; Sign up Today!

Kids ages 8 and older can experience a tree from a whole new point of view through recreational tree climbing at the Dow Gardens Whiting Forest this summer!

These tree climbing opportunities are perfect for the child who wants the challenge of pulling themself up into a tree on a rope. Helmets, child-size climbing harnesses, and guidance provided by a trained arborist will be provided. An adult must stay with the child.

Note: Physical exertion and arm strength required.

Recreational Tree Climbing for Kids will be offered on the following Thursdays from 10 a.m. - Noon at Whiting Forest. Reservations required.

Dow Gardens is offering Beginner Bug Classes this summer!
Join entomologist Elly Maxwell on for a summer-long weekly class geared towards young entomologists. Learn to collect, pin, preserve, and identify insect critters.

Wednesdays from 1:30 - 3:00 (June 17th - August 12th)

Children must be 8 or older at the time the class begins. Register soon, please call 631-2677; there is a fee of $30.

Coming to Dow Gardens this Summer!

Copper Frogs created by artist Andy Cobb are packing up to travel to Dow Gardens this summer from North Carolina. These frogs have BIG personalities and will be on display throughout the garden landscape beginning June1.

The gardens will be "hopping" with special activities this summer; we're planning activities to introduce you to each frog!

Beautiful Trees and Rhododendrons in Bloom

Beautiful blooming trees and rhododendrons are currently filling the gardens! Don't miss the beauty of a Michigan Spring, plan to enjoy a walk through the Dow Gardens which is open every day from 9 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Children's Garden Bubble Table Opens this Weekend

2,000 pansies are waiting to greet you in the Dow Gardens Children's Garden. Rumor has it that the bubble table will open up this weekend... come on out and explore! Be sure to join us every Friday at 10 a.m. for storytime in the Children's Garden too!

Yoga in Dow Gardens Returns!

Wellpath - Yoga in the Gardens

May 26 thru June 25 | June 30 thru July 30 | August 4 thru September 3 5:30PM - 6:45PM

This class will meet at the Dow Gardens Visitor Center. From there participants will walk to various sections of Dow Gardens. This is a Viniyoga class suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. Getting up and down from the ground, standing on one leg and performing squats should be easy tasks for participants. Lunchtime Yoga

Take a break from your work day and rebuild your energy level. This class will stretch, invigorate, and relax you.
