ATHLETES, SPECTATORS, COACHES AND MEDIA

|
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
|
|
- Is there really only 10 spectators max per team? Yes
- What if we have 12 athletes, can we have more bands? No
- So some parents won't be able to come in? Correct
- Why are you so mean? We are actually such nice people, you can trust us with your kids.
- Who made these dumb rules up? We are just following protocols being pushed down from the county through our venue operator, who also must also abide by those rules.
- Why is this happening? Someone decided there is a pandemic.
- No, why is there a max? We have a max number of participants that can be in the gym at any one time. Working to keep numbers down lowers the rate of COVID-19 transmission.
- Why do you care? We know that some people are susceptible to the virus because they are immunocompromised, so we ask that anyone who has a weakened immune system or is sick stay home.
- Don't you know this is unfair? Life isn't fair, but we help our athletes confront that in life by strategically adjusting to their situation.
- So what's your solution to this issue? What's really cool is that we are providing live streaming for your convenience. Corona has actually challenged us to pivot and work on different strategies that will benefit you and many more people. We've implemented live streaming for family, friends, and college coaches that would not have been an option previously. It's a win - win!
- Is the live streaming good quality? Because this is our first time doing it, there is a lot we will be learning. Be patient with us. Our goals are to give you the best angles with the highest quality.
- What if I am working during the game and still don't get a chance to watch? Your team can record the game on an iPad, upload it to a Hudl account, and share it with you later, or livestream using YouTube Live or Facebook Live. We will also have our live streamed games available for download when the games are done!
- What if my team isn't playing on one of the 4 live streamed games? See answer #12. Work it out with your own team to plan for a spectator to record or live stream the games on your own.
- Do you have any other options to get more people in the venue? Because the teams play multiple games, you could always share entrance by having one person go to the first game and then another person take a wrist band to attend the second game and so forth. It's not perfect, but we would rather your athletes be playing than not at all. It's the best we can do this season, and we are extremely grateful that athletes have this opportunity at all!
- Can you please explain the wristband situation?
- We will be providing 2 coaches, 1 scorekeeper, and 10 colored bands to your team coach
- We suggest your team designate a parent to pass these out to your spectators at the tourney so your coach can spend that quality time with their athletes
- Each game will have it's own color band (ex: 8am - Yellow; 10am - Blue, etc), so your spectators may have three or four colors (# bands = to the number of games the team plays)
- Each color will ONLY be allowed through once during that designated time during the tournament and we will share what those game time colors are
- Parents could share game times ex: Parent 1 attends 8am game with Yellow band and Parent 2 attends 10 am game with Blue band or Parent A goes to all games and promotes the color of the rainbow on his arm
WELCOME TO INTERMISSION
- Is there anything else we need to know? Please note that there are limited concessions available and athletes should pack snacks and extra water. See the concession notes in the Top 10 Things to Know section
- Do I need to sign the waiver? Everyone must have their electronic waiver completed before Sunday, July 18th @ 5pm. Sunday evening, we are printing a spreadsheet that shows who has signed waivers. If you are not on that list, you will slow down the entry process, and the people behind you will not be happy. Please fill out the electronic waiver by the deadline.
- Do we really need to have our temperature taken? Yes. It is a 2 second TEMPERATURE SCANNING process and if you pass it once, you don't need to do it again. We will mark you when you pass.
- Will there be crowds of people outside during the check-in process? No. We will have areas marked off so people can keep as much physical distancing as they need while entering the facility. Others who are comfortable with social groups can choose to congregate safely.
- Do I need to be concerned about disinfecting my own chairs? No. The CFCC staff will do a remarkable job disinfecting every chair in the venue between games. You will not be allowed in until the facility has been cleared and cleaned.
- What if we get backed up when checking in! Will I miss my athlete's game? No. We have allotted enough time for this transition to happen between games. The next wave of games will not start until all spectators have been admitted. They will hold the games. You will not miss the start of your child's games.
- I don’t want to wear a mask. Is that okay? We STRONGLY RECOMMEND a mask, but no one will be out of place whether you choose to wear a mask or not. Own your decision, but be good with whatever someone else chooses to do.
- Where do I go when I get to the venue? There will be tents clearly marked for spectator check-in at the main entrance and coach check-in around the right side of the building. There will be a Player Drop-off on the right side of the building. Coaches and Players will enter the rear of the building. See the CFCC Venue Diagram link above for a picture.

Athletes should bring their own balls for warm-ups. Players/spectators will not be allowed to dribble on the sidelines or shoot during breaks. Please communicate to your families that no basketballs should be brought into the gym other than what your team will use during warm-ups. These Basketballs should only be used during that time - not in lobby/hallway or during stoppage in play.
