Since our last communication in May, the Rector Search Committee has been busy laying the groundwork for the first stages of the search. We have also created a webpage where you can find all information related to this process, located here, which we will be updating as our work progresses. Today, we write to tell you what our work this summer will involve and to share opportunities you will have to participate in this process.
Information Session
There will be a parish-wide information session this summer where we will answer every question about the selection process that we can. It will be on Sunday, June 27 at 10:05am in Hampton Hall.
The information session will be in person as well as online via Zoom, and it will be recorded. Instructions for joining via Zoom will be communicated closer to the date. The recording will be available on the Search Committee webpage (found here) and will be emailed out to the parish following the event.
Survey
On Monday, August 1, we will send out a parish-wide survey which we will ask everyone to complete. The survey will be available through August 31. Your responses to the survey are critical—we cannot stress enough how valuable your input will be.
Focus Groups
After the surveys are completed and digested, we will facilitate focus groups to give us additional insight into the needs and desires of our parish.
Parish Profile and Brochure
The findings from the survey and focus groups will be layered into a parish profile and brochure that will be published for potential candidates to review. We want them to understand who we are, what we offer, and what we are looking for.
Nominations and Calling
After our parish profile and brochure are published, we will accept nominations (including from parish members) and then will enter into a period of discernment and ultimately, the calling of our new rector.
We ask for your participation in the survey later this summer, and above all, for your prayers in the weeks and months ahead.
