The Gethsemane Garden Window
Dear St. John's Community,
All of the windows are now open once again, letting in the light and artistry, telling the stories of the life of Jesus including those events that we are about to remember as we enter into Holy Week.
I have recorded a short video which you can view right now describing the many services and other Holy Week opportunities coming up.
Seats for Palm Sunday are no longer available, but we still have seats in the church for Maundy Thursday (7pm), Good Friday (noon)
and Easter (9am & 11am)
. In order to attend, you need to sign up before midnight on Sunday night. This is because of the lead time it takes to assign seats. Sign up here
, or by calling the church office at 202-347-8766, and you'll get a confirmation that you are on the list by Monday.
Whether you choose to be in person or online—or both—there is no better or worse choice. Each has its benefits. My hope is that you will be able to honor this holy time in a faithful way this year.
Fortunately, too, restrictions are being lifted more and more. and I can't wait to welcome everyone fully back to church! As the light is now back in our gorgeous windows, and the dawn of Easter morning is near, so is the light that comes with all of us returning to the joyful in-person worship for which St. John's is so well known and loved.
