Season of Giving at Bishop Watterson

Bishop Watterson students have participated in several opportunities to help the less fortunate through an all-school food drive for the St. Francis Center in McArthur, Ohio and a monetary collection for Holy Family Soup Kitchen.

In addition, the St. Vincent de Paul Club had a bake sale and used the funds to make Christmas bags filled with hats, socks and personal items for clients of Holy Family Soup Kitchen.

Football Team Wins 2nd Straight State Championship

Our football Eagles won the 2025 Division III State Championship on December 5 with a 30-0 shutout of Toledo Central Catholic in the championship game in Canton.

Congratulations to Coach Kennedy and the team on back to back title wins!

This is the sixth state championship in the football program's history (1966, 1972, 2002, 2010, 2024, 2025).

We are grateful to our students, parents, alumni and fans who showed up in Canton to cheer on the Eagles!

State Championship Gear

We are working with two local companies on official state championship shirts and sweatshirts. If you're planning to order we would appreciate you patronizing these vendors as a percentage will come back to the team! Thank you for your support.

National Catholic Youth Conference

Bishop Watterson sent a contigent of 24 students and five adults to the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis in November. The students spent three days attending faith-related sessions, getting to know each other and meeting Catholic teens from across the United States.

Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations to Anna Rose Gradisar ‘26, Bishop Watterson Volunteer of the Month for November! Anna Rose has been involved with the Columbus Dream Center since 2023 and this past month organized, from start to finish, a Thanksgiving Meal Drive. Anna Rose was responsible for the social media campaign, collection and assembly of items, plus the delivery of more than 36 large family meals to those in need. It was the experience of serving meals with the Columbus Dream Center one summer that inspired Anna Rose to find a realistic way to help more that she decided to focus on a Thanksgiving drive. Given the restraints of her academic and extracurricular schedule during the school year, a meal basket drive was the perfect way to help from afar but still partake in meaningful service. She also organizes an Easter basket drive for children through the Columbus Dream Center.

Additionally, Anna Rose has volunteered with Home for Families since second grade, focusing on gathering clothes and cleaning products.

Anna Rose has an extra appreciation for the summer months because that’s when she’s physically able to serve the community, her personal favorite being the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. During the school year Anna Rose volunteers as an assistant dance instructor at K-Studio Dance. In total – Anna Rose has dedicated more than 350 hours to the community during her career at Bishop Watterson.
