Volunteer of the Month

Each month this school year we are celebrating a student who is showing Christ's love in action through service to the community.

Congratulations to Juliana Brown ’26, Bishop Watterson Volunteer of the Month for October! In 7th grade, Juliana and her mom were visiting Audino’s bakery and noticed a building next door with a beautiful mural. They learned the building belonged to NNEMAP, a food pantry and emergency material assistance program. Juliana and her mom got in the habit of bringing bread to the food pantry and it has turned into a regular five-year service opportunity. Juliana continues to volunteer weekly at NNEMAP and this holiday season is helping co-chair the upcoming Christmas Shop. Encouraged by her experiences with NNEMAP, Juliana wanted to find more opportunities to serve her community. This has led to time spent at the Worthington Food Pantry, the Huckleberry House, and her second-favorite site, the Columbus Humane Society! Juliana began serving at the Columbus Humane Society in January 2025 and commits twice a week to working with some the sweetest pups in Central Ohio. She loves that she can be a safe moment for these animals and regularly looks for the chance to take the often-neglected pitbulls for a walk. Juliana has recorded more than 300 hours of service during her time at Bishop Watterson and just this past month alone recorded more than 54 volunteer hours.
