Fall Retreats

Nearly 60 seniors attended a Kairos retreat for three days at The Retreat Center in Maria Stein, Ohio. It was the second Kairos retreat for the Class of 2025, with winter and spring retreats still to come.

The Class of 2028 gathered this week for our annual Freshman Day of Reflection. This is a retreat day at school centered on helping our freshmen to know that they are deeply loved by God and encouraging them to share that love in building community.

BWHS Named to AP School Honor Roll

Bishop Watterson has been named to the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll, earning the bronze distinction. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success.

Research shows students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. Also, students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP build confidence for college success and accelerate their path to graduation; for those who don’t earn credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work.

Schools can earn this recognition annually based on the engagement of the graduating class with AP courses.

Homecoming Honoree: Retired Teacher Tom Tuohy

A Bishop Watterson homecoming tradition is to honor someone who has been a dedicated member of the BWHS community. Retired science teacher Tom Tuohy has had such a positive impact on the BWHS students and community that he was selected as our 2024 Homecoming Honoree. Mr. Tuohy taught at Bishop Watterson from 1986-2022, with subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space, Ecology and Introduction to Physics and Chemistry.

Homecoming Court 2024

Our 2024 Homecoming Court was announced during our Homecoming Assembly and recognized at halftime of the varsity football game on October 11.

Each senior was nominated by a classmate and anonymously selected by a panel of faculty members for our 2024 Homecoming Court. They were nominated and selected because their peers and the staff believe that they represent the best of Bishop Watterson.

Left to right: Brady Benjamin (St. Agatha School, St. Mary Delaware Parish), Sophia Blum (St. Andrew School and Parish), Luka Michtich (St. Brigid School and Parish), Gigi O'Dorisio (St. Timothy School and Parish), Mack Murnane (Trinity Catholic School, St. Christopher Parish), Cameron Sparks (Dominion Middle School), Connor Samenuk (St. Brigid School and Parish), Katie Carson (Columbus School for Girls, St. Agatha Parish) and Deacon Chris Campbell, Principal.

Luka Michtich and Gigi O'Dorisio were voted Homecoming King and Queen at the Homecoming Dance.

Fall Drama: Game of Tiaras

Recommended for ages 12 and older.

When the aging king of a Magical Kingdom (England) decides to split his empire between his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle, and the Snow Queen (who in no way resembles a copyrighted character), terrible tragedy ensues. Terrible, hilarious tragedy. Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of Game of Thrones, and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of King Lear will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you win or you die.

The Little Theatre will present Game of Tiaras November 15 at 7:00 p.m., November 16 at 7:00 p.m. and November 17 at 2:00 p.m.
