OTHER UPDATES: from the American Red Cross
Inclusion, Belonging, Equity, and Access (IBEA) Task Force - The IBEA Task Force is kicking off the 2022 – 2023 Fiscal Year with some very specific goals in mind. This year we will focus on growing the number of Affinity Groups across the region, supporting the Sickle Cell Initiative with our Biomed partners and adding more vignettes to our Effective Interactions Series. Our team has grown, and we are delighted to welcome Martin Gagliano, our Regional Communications Manager, to the IBEA Task Force. Together we will continue our commitment to making NCCR a place where everyone feels included and everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the success of our region.
August International Services Discussion Group with Featured Speaker: Nicola Sirak Irwin - Join our next monthly discussion on August 18 from 2 - 3:30 p.m. PT, to learn about Nicole Sirak Irwin’s international work with the Red Cross. Nicole is the Regional CEO for the Red Cross of Idaho, Montana and Oregon. She has 30+ years of experience working in the non-profit sector for a wide range of organizations. Fuel For Thought - 62% of the U.S. population is eligible to give blood, yet only 3% actually does. That's not enough. The blood supply can't coast by – more donors are needed now to prevent a shortage. In thanks for your help in August, the Red Cross is giving you a chance at gas for a year! Plus, get a $10 e-gift card to a merchant you choose. Book now: rcblood.org/3I97xaD
Make-A-Will Month - As a volunteer, you know that preparedness is a huge pillar of our mission. The truth is that every Red Crosser also needs a plan for the next possible disaster, including a valid will. August is National Make-A-Will Month, and this year we want to share a free, easy, and secure online resource.

FreeWill.com/RedCross provides step-by-step guidance for will preparation. Our free Red Cross Will Planning Workbook is a great companion resource that many volunteers and supporters have used to make sure that everything that they own is included in their will. We hope this month you are inspired to protect the future of those you love by completing your will.
