What is the Red Letter Challenge? This Fall, your family is invited to join us on a Lego-themed adventure within the Gospels! The chief focus of the "Red Letter Challenge" is to instill in students a personal appreciation for the daily discipline of spending time in God's word, encountering Jesus in a real and personal way, and establishing a lifelong commitment to personal devotions. The Bible reading plan below affords students the opportunity to work through all four gospels, one chapter each day, over roughly three months.
Why does the Red Letter Challenge use incentives? As students seek to engage this discipline, it can be fun to use extrinsic reminders of the intrinsic worth of this commitment. That's why the Red Letter Challenge presents incentives to students to participate--and, this Fall, those incentives are centered around ever-popular Legos! Below, you can follow the reading plan and use the link on the right to take you to the passage for that day.

How does my student earn the incentives? At the end of each week, after a student has finished all seven chapters for that week, follow the link to submit your student's name, registering them for whatever the incentive is for that particular week. Links and details are found below.
Can we go through the RLC using audio formats? What a great idea! After all, "faith comes by hearing"! Yes, using an audiobook format, you can listen to the 'reading' of the day. Maybe on the way to school in the morning?
Can students join in once the Red Letter Challenge is already underway? Yes! The best time to start reading God's word is today! If a student decides to join the Red Letter Challenge once it is underway, all that they need to do is start with reading the chapter for that day and then keep reading as the challenge progresses--no catch up necessary. Although they may have missed earlier incentives, they are eligible for all but one of the incentives moving forward. The exception will be the final incentive--the trip to the Legoland Discovery Center in Tempe--that particular incentive requires a student to participate in the entire challenge in order to be eligible.
Who can participate? God's word is for EVERYONE! Any Northwest Christian student--Early Ed through High School--can join in the fun! This is open to NCS on-the-ground students, NCS Online students, and NCS Flex students!
