2nd Sunday in LENT
Be strong, and he shall comfort your heart;
wait patiently for the Lord.
Psalm 27:18
Don't miss the bus. It's leaving March 20
Join us during Lent for a unique bus trip. We will join several intrepid passengers on a bus traveling from Hell to Heaven. C.S. Lewis's The Great Divorce is diminutive in size but powerful in its message of repentance and renewal. The book is available via Amazon or your local bookstore or library. The bus travels on Wednesdays: Mar. 20 and 27 , and Apr. 3 and 10 at either 10 AM or 6:30 PM. A soup supper will be served at 6 PM. Come join us for the journey -- Rev. Roy (Note: the Wednesday Holy Eucharist will take place at 5:30 as usual.)
Bishop's annual visitation is March 24
The Rt. Rev. Gladstone B. "Skip" Adams III will make his annual visitation to St. Mark's on March 24. He will be the preacher and celebrant at the 11 AM service and will receive several St. Mark's members into the Episcopal Church. A covered-dish reception on the green will follow. Please bring your favorite picnic-type dish to share. Beverages and paper products will be provided. Dishes should be ready to serve--reheating facilities are extremely limited. Contact Beth Campbell at if you have questions.
Mandatory make-up class
If you are planning to be confirmed or received on Mar. 24 and have missed ANY of the Inquirers' Classes, you must attend the make-up session this Saturday, Mar. 16, from 10-11:30 AM in St. Mark's Center. If for some reason you cannot attend, please contact Rev. Roy at or call 339-499-8566 ASAP.

Special prayers for birthdays, anniversaries
On the first Sunday of each month beginning April 7, we'll include a special prayer for all St. Mark's members who are celebrating birthdays or wedding anniversaries during that month. If you're on our mailing list, we already have your birthdate. (Check with Carter at if you're not sure.) If you'd like to be included on your anniversary, please email the office with your names and the date ( ).
Let us know...
if you know of St. Mark's members who need a visit, phone call, meal, altar flowers, etc., please give us a heads up so we can contact them. Altar flowers won't be delivered during Lent because we're using only greenery, but we'll begin delivery again on Easter Sunday.

An Irish blessing for St. Patrick's Day
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
