Sunday ~ the Day of Pentecost
And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability. Acts 2;1-x
Hail thee, festival day!
What better way to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost than with a picnic! Join us on the lawn of the Center after the 11 AM service this Sunday, June 9, with your favorite picnic-type dish to share, as well as a lawn chair. Paper products and beverages will be provided. In olden days, people wore white (hence the name "Whitsunday"), but in modern times it's become traditional to wear red on Pentecost Sunday to symbolize the tongues of fire that appeared over the disciples' heads.
Meet the "Wandering Rector" for coffee
Come have coffee and join the movable conversation. Rev. Roy's schedule for the next two weeks is as follows:
  • Tues., June 11, 2:30 PM @ Starbucks on Boundary St.
  • Wed., June 19, 10 AM @ Common Ground, downtown Beaufort
Communion bread bakers needed
The bread- baking team is seeking more folks to help with baking the bread we use during the Eucharist. Full instructions and a recipe are provided, and with multiple members, each baker has a fairly light load. If you have questions or want to volunteer, please contact Teege Culp at (843) 838-2624 or  teege.culp@gmail.com.
Congregational Meeting June 23
Plan to attend a "town hall" meeting to discuss the results of the Capital Campaign Feasibility Study and the next phase of the Campaign. Join us in Union Church between the 9 AM and 11 AM services for this informational meeting.
Cheers! Rev. Roy leads the discussion while lifting a glass at God-on-Tap on May 30 at Common Ground. This was the last of these informal evening sessions for the season, but they'll resume in the fall.
