Early voting has begun, and I encourage all to vote early, do not put it off. The Second Congressional District race is critical, and we must liberate this seat from the Democrats! Congresswoman Elaine Luria has been both ineffective and a controlled mouthpiece for Nancy Pelosi.

The budget remains unresolved in Richmond, but our team is hard at work to arrive at a solution acceptable to both sides of the aisle. Unfortunately, this means we will not get everything we believe to be important, but neither will the Democrats. Failure to agree does not help anyone in the Commonwealth and will slow down the progress of the Governors plans for the state. I remain optimistic that our team will craft a deal that strikes a balance acceptable to all. Please follow this closely as it impacts each of us.

Likewise, the Virginia Beach City Council passed its’ budget this week nearly unanimously. The final product is not perfect and does not please everyone, but there was overwhelming consensus! It is never easy to raise taxes, and we must always resist doing so. However, the City Council agreed that their final product best meets the overall needs of the city. This is what we hired them to do, but if you disagree, let them know professionally and respectfully, they expect it. Ask them to explain why they voted they way they did. You may still disagree with their vote, but at least you will understand why they made their decision.

Finally, I encourage all of you to attend as many campaigns fund raising events for our School Board and City Council candidates as possible. They need the resources for their campaigns, and they need to see and hear from you. Keep in mind that they will represent you and you must know what they believe.
I am providing the most recently updated copy of the Virginia Beach Precinct List as a convenience once again. It lists all precincts within the new revised districts.

Our prayers continue to go out to the people of Ukraine.
