Dear Friends,

“This land is your land, this land is my land.” What a great American classic, penned by Woody Guthrie. As Sedona deals with a continued increase in visitation fueled by the pandemic, the City Council and chamber are advancing an FY22 plan that proposes educating visitors on our community’s values and expectations for them when they visit:

  • Sedona is a fragile resource; take the Sedona Cares Pledge.
  • Sedonans value a sustainable lifestyle that minimizes environmental impacts. Leave No Trace.
  • To our new urban visitors, explore the outdoors, but recreate responsibly and explore all that the greater Verde Valley has to offer.

As a destination completely surrounded by public lands, lands owned by we the people and managed on our behalf by federal and state governments, let’s remember that “this land was made for you and me.” We all have the right to recreate on our public lands, whether we live here or not, and share the duty as resident or visitor to be good stewards of these lands.
