Welcome to Redeemer Life!
Something about the words, "we are hiring" creates feelings of optimism, excitement and anticipation for what's to come. And if you sit quietly and listen, you can feel the Holy Spirit's presence and know something amazing is happening here at Redeemer. It is hard to put into words, but it is best described as an intricate mix of peace, joy, love and wonder.

For Redeemer, the words 'we are hiring' signal:
  • a return to 'normalcy' with the re-opening of our nursery,
  • a bittersweet retirement with the recruiting of a new staff accountant, and
  • God's abundant blessing of growth with the need for a second kindergarten teacher.

And of course, the addition of Associate Pastor Drew Bayless to our ministry staff signals new beginnings and limitless possibilities as he joins us on our mission -- living out the Word and healing ministry of Jesus.

This said we need your help! The best hires come from YOUR referrals.

Following is more information about our open positions.
Redeemer Staff Account
We are currently seeking a staff accountant (15-20 hours/week). The accounting position is supported by a part-time bookkeeper.

This is an ideal position for someone who has solid experience as an accountant with either a non-profit or business but is now looking for greater flexibility to accommodate family or personal needs/interests.

Please call our Church Office (509.926.6363) or email Susan (sbaldwin@redeemeralive.org) for the full job description and/or to apply.
Redeemer Kindergarten Teacher
Our school is GROWING and we are looking for a second Kindergarten teacher.

This is a dream job for someone interested in teaching in a private, Christian setting.

Benefits include: wonderful families, professional supportive staff, and smaller class sizes.

Resumes with references can be sent to the attention of Redeemer's Director of Early Childhood Education, Erica Barton ebarton@redeemeralive.org

***Please note that experience in Early Childhood Education is required and a current Washington State Teaching Certification is preferred.

Redeemer's Nursery Ministry (newborn-age 3)
We're excited to announce that we've filled our nursery openings -- Cori Noll is our new Nursery Coordinator and Lauren Gilson is our Nursery Assistant. Both women will be helping us extend the reach of our Children's Ministry to our youngest members.

Serving the needs of families with children ages newborn to 3-years-old, Redeemer's Nursery is an extension of our Children's Ministry program led by Erica Barton.

If you'd like to learn more or volunteer to serve in our Nursery, please connect with Cori directly at either 509-279-9238 (voice/text) or email corinoll_ewa@gmail.com.

We are excited to be able to once again offer this vital ministry to our Redeemer family! Our Nursery is currently open during our 9:30 a.m. Worship Service.
And one final request... Please like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram @RedeemerAlive. And when you do, please help us expand our reach by "Liking, Commenting on, and Sharing" our posts with your friends and family. Please follow us on YouTube, too. Thank you!

As always, we'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to submit your updates, stories, questions, photos, and videos to our Director of Marketing & Communications, Susan Baldwin at sbaldwin@redeemeralive.org. If appropriate and with your permission, we'll feature them here and/or on our social media channels.
Pastor's Word Friday: Shut Up & Listen - Episode 2
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first episode of Redeemer's new podcast series Shut Up & Listen. The feedback has been wonderfully positive and much appreciated -- so please keep it coming!

Shut Up & Listen is where we ask the tough questions, explore real-world issues, and dive deep into scripture. If you have a question or issue you'd like for us to bring to the table, please let us know at sbaldwin@redeemeralive.org.

This week Pastor Dave picks up where we left off last week, exploring the topic of Christian Nationalism. Reese Rountree, Redeemer's Ministry Intern, brings unique insight to the conversation as he takes us into his world travels. A trip around the world that allowed Reese to experience Christianity through a very different lens -- actually, many different lens.

Takeaways from today's conversation:
  • The common denominator across Christianity is the love of Jesus Christ and the belief in one God -- the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • An encounter with C.S. Lewis' stepson, Douglas Gresham, who shared, "Christianity is not a religion, it is itself."
  • A realization that Christian Nationalism can create exclusion as highlighted in 2 Timothy 3:5 .

We hope you take a moment to sit quietly and listen to this week's episode and then we'd love to hear your thoughts on the topic. Next week we'll assess the current state of the Church and explore its future.

And with that, let's shut up and listen!
Note, we are still building our formal podcast platform but in the short term, you'll find our Podcasts here in the newsletter, on YouTube, and Facebook.

Social Ministry

This past week we received several requests for assistance and we wanted to share a couple of the 'asks' in the newsletter in case you are able to assist or would like to serve.

When is a ride to church more than just a ride?
We've had several inquiries about a ministry to drive members, no longer able to drive themselves, to Worship on Sunday. We don’t currently have a ministry in place to address this need but we are open to supporting one if you would like to lead -- living out the Word and healing ministry of Jesus.

So to answer the question above, a ride to church is more than just a ride when it becomes a connection... a conversation... an act of service done in the love of Jesus Christ.

If this is something that speaks to your heart, please call our Church Office or connect with any of our Ministry Team. We agree this would be a vital program to add our ministries.

Donating a Used Vehicle
We are working with a young woman in need of a car. If you have a car you’d like to donate, please connect with Doug Weinrich, Redeemer's Minister of Servant Leader Development. As always, we’d go through all of the proper channels.
