Following her recent marriage, Grace Howie has taken a new last name and will now go by Grace Sweeney. We wish her and her husband a wonderful life together!
McLean Day Coordinator Needed
Do you enjoy a good town festival? Do you think Redeemer should be out in the community more often? Then this volunteer opportunity is for you! The Membership Outreach team is looking for someone to coordinate our booth and volunteers at this year's McLean Day to be held on May 16. You will be in charge of gathering a team of volunteers to set up and tear down the booth and staff the booth throughout the day. This is one of our key outreach events and we need YOU! Social Justice and Equity Book Club—New Readings April 13
The group has just finished another great book, Beloved by Toni Morrison. Monday, April 13 we will have a discussion led by Joan Durman on a group of poems by Black authors: Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, and Amanda Gorman, and an essay by Zora N. Hurston, author of Their Eyes are Watching God. Afterward we will read Let us Descend: A Novel by Jesmyn Ward. Anyone is welcome to join us and this would be a good time to do so! We meet every Monday via Zoom @ 7:30 pm-8:30 pm. Contact Teresa Schellenger for more details.
Young Adult Paint Night—April 13 from 7 to 9 pm
Create, connect, and have fun! Join us for a magical evening of art-making, creativity, and fun at Lewinsville Presbyterian! We will be painting along with a tutorial video to create a cherry tree holding the moon.
- Dinner and all supplies will be provided!
- No artistic talent required!
- Friends and partners are welcome!

Youth Take-Home Service Project for April
Placemats for Sunrise of McLean Village—Return by May 3
Our April Service Project will be to create placemats for Sunrise of McLean Village. This involves decorating a paper placemat, with hopes of spreading joy to the residents. Specific paper will be available in Crossroads. We ask that these be returned by May 3 so they can be delivered to the residents the following week on Mother’s Day. Our goal is to create at least 30 placemats as this would allow for each resident in the memory care unit to receive one. All ages are welcome to participate, and you can create more than one! Please do not use 3-D elements since the placemats will be laminated.
Little Food Pantry
The need for food assistance remains high. Please help support this important ongoing service to the community. We are currently in need of the following items:
- canned fruit
- canned vegetables
- canned hearty soups
- oatmeal packets
- granola bars
Items may be dropped off in the church narthex. Thank you!
Partner for Surgery
Amazingly, we were able to reach the goal of collecting 45 breast pumps to provide throughout Guatemala as part of the community care clinics. So thankful for the generosity!
Looking forward, we'll be preparing 50 gift bags for the babies (up to 1 year) for delivery in July. In addition to infant rattles, infant socks and Nuk pacifiers for 0–6 months, the big ask for this trip is to include a specialized cleft palate nipple to use on bottles, found at Amazon through the wish list at this link.
