"Sharing Christ's Love with the Greatest Number of People"

Redeemer Lutheran Church

May 8, 2026

Greetings!

Tonight is the Redeemer Renaissance Process Art Show from 6 to 7 pm! Join us for an Interactive Process Art Exhibition. Not only can you see wonderful artworks, but you can make art too!

Sunday, May 10—Sixth Sunday of Easter—8:30 am, 9:45 am, and 11 am

Come and be with us this Sunday. Pastor Sharon Core will preside and preach at all services.

This Sunday is Youth Leadership Sunday! You will see our youth serving as greeters, ushers, acolytes, and readers. The Youth Choir and individual musicians will also perform.

It is part of our Lutheran tradition for the different parts of our liturgy to be led by the pastor and those from the congregation. Please use the link below to sign up for future weeks.

Get to Know our Community at McLean Day!May 16

Have you ever been to McLean Day? It is a fun festival where the community comes together to celebrate all that is McLean. Redeemer always has a booth where we meet and greet our neighbors, play games, and invite them to join us for worship, special events, or at Redeemer Renaissance. This year, Josh Magnuson and Luis Rodriguez are coordinating set up and people to "person" our booth (many thanks to them!). We are looking for volunteers to hang out at our booth, help kids with spin art, talk to our neighbors, and enjoy a day with other Redeemer volunteers. Duty is easy and fun!

Please look for a sign-up sheet in the Crossroads or email church@redeemermclean.org to grab a spot!

Special Congregational Meeting—RESCHEDULED: May 31

Between 9:45 am and 11 am Services

Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances the date of the congregational meeting has changed. It will be held following the 9:45 am service, prior to the 11 am service.

With the work of the Transition Team winding down, Council has established a nominating team to identify candidates for the Call Committee. Many thanks to Sabine Detweiler, Gene Morrow, Matthew Kratz, and Ellen Kennedy for serving on that team.

We are pleased to announce that the nominating team has identified and proposed a slate of eight candidates to serve on the Call Committee for Senior Pastor. According to Redeemer’s Constitution, this Call Committee, which is to be broadly representative of this congregation, will be elected at a special congregational meeting to be held between the 9:45 and 11 am services on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Bios for each candidate were provided in an email to the congregation on May 3 that can be found here.

Little Food Pantry

Demand for the Little Food Pantry has been consistently high. We are low on the following:

  • peanut butter
  • canned chicken
  • canned tuna
  • Ritz crackers
  • hearty soups
  • granola bars
  • boxed rice
  • oatmeal packets.

Other appreciated items are canned fruit, canned vegetables, instant soups, and pasta.

Items may be dropped off in Crossroads. Thank you for your support!

Partner for Surgery

Amazingly, we were able to reach the goal of collecting 45 breast pumps to provide throughout Guatemala as part of the community care clinics. So thankful for the generosity!

Looking forward, we'll be preparing 50 gift bags for the babies (up to 1 year) for delivery in July. In addition to infant rattles, infant socks, and Nuk pacifiers for 0–6 months, the big ask for this trip is to include a specialized cleft palate nipple to use on bottles, found at Amazon through the wish list at this link.
