MISSION UNDERCOVER

"OUR PROJECT INCLUDED a diaper drive and underwear collection for boys and girls to provide essential under garment to babies, toddlers and adolescents in order to meet the need of our low income families."

We are collecting packages of diapers and wipes again to benefit the Capital Diaper Bank, a non-profit that helps needy families in our area. The under garments that we gather will be for boys and girls ages 2-12 and will be distributed by the Caring Clothes Closet. In addition, we are collecting quality feminine hygiene products for disadvantaged girls and women so they can thrive in school and at work. Please donate unopened packages of period pads, panty liners and tampons that will dispersed by Sylvia’s Sisters. Our congregation is invited to bring these products to the identified tables in the Parlor from April 24 to May 29. Monetary donations are always welcome. Just make the checks payable to Redeemer and specify on the “For” line if you prefer one mission to another.

Thank you for your support for all these worthwhile charities. If you have any questions, please text, or call Pat Carmichael at (804) 347-2324.

MEAL TRAIN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
AT REDEEMER WE have been so fortunate as to have a large volunteer base for our many programs and projects! Some in our Redeemer family help fix or order meals and deliver them to fellow church members in need. We currently, however, are finding ourselves in need of some new additions to our list of those willing to take on a meal every so often. Below is a short explanation of the program written in the words of the program's founders.

Meal Train simplifies the organization of meal giving around significant life events. We strive to simplify and promote interpersonal relationships between friends, families, and neighbors through meals. Meal Train is rooted in the idea that a meal is a symbolic gesture of one person’s willingness to help another. The meal is a vehicle that allows the giving party the opportunity to show they care that they hope to reduce a burden, and they will be there for the receiving party in the future. This outreach is a true interpersonal connection and is one that helps foster inter-dependence, dialogue, and compassion.

If you are interested in having your name added to our list of volunteers, please call or email Rachel Williams 804-426-3877 or [email protected].
REDS REPORT
MAY 24, 2022

OUR FIRST ANNUAL gala, “Paint the Town Red,” was a great time spent mingling with REDS families, friends, and staff.
