Redevelopment Worked!

The 2018 Legislative Session concluded with  no changes passed to the laws that govern Community Redevelopment Agencies!

We especially want to thank our intrepid lobbyists, our members, our campaign leaders with RB Oppenheim and Associates and our community leaders. Without your interest and effort, we could not succeed.

We would also like to thank the citizens of Florida for believing in CRAs statewide. YOU are the reason Redevelopment Works. Thank you to all who wrote, called, posted successes on social media and spread the good word locally.

Make sure, especially over the next year, to keep close to FRA to learn the current statutory requirements, how to keep in compliance and what the latest best practices are for CRAs.

Please make sure to thank your legislators for their support! The list of who voted with CRAs can be viewed here.

Are you taking advantage of everything FRA has to offer? See below  the latest questions posted to MyFRA's question and answer forum. Don't forget, post your answers today!

  • We are looking to see if any other CRA's have a threshold for incentives they try to stay below when looking at providing funding to partner with a private developer.
  • Has anyone encountered a developer coming back requesting additional funding due to unknown building issues at the time they submitted and were approved for their original request?
  • What is the timeframe for an Annual Report - the calendar year or the fiscal year?
  • How has your CRA benefited from property acquisition?
  • After Hurricane Irma this year we are looking to create a program that can be of assistance to our residents and businesses before and after an emergency like a hurricane. Have other CRAs implemented or considered such programs. What are some highlights or things to avoid?
Note: MyFRA is a members-only site. Subscribed members have access to hundreds of sample documents, numerous resources and can network with other members throughout the state. To become a member or access MyFRA,  click here.
