San Bernardino County is shaping up to be the next major transportation hub with the new Arrow creating more connections for San Bernardino and Redlands and an underground tunnel connecting Metrolink riders to Ontario International Airport.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES - Week of August 9
Crews are installing light poles, security cameras, and signage at the stations; installing underground utilities; and preparing for train testing.

  • On August 2, Tippecanoe Avenue closed for approximately ten (10) weeks. The closure is at the rail crossing only. Crews will be performing drainage work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Detour routes will be posted and include Waterman Avenue and/or Richardson Street.

  • On Monday, August 16, Nevada Street will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for crews to perform paving. The closure is at the rail crossing only. Detour routes will be posted and includes:
  • Northbound detour: Redlands Boulevard to Alabama Street to Orange Tree Lane
  • Southbound detour: Orange Tree Lane to Alabama Street to Redlands Boulevard

  • Intermittent daytime (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) lane closures will occur on local streets including Mill Street, Central Avenue, Orange Show, Richardson Street, California Street, Nevada Street, Alabama Street, Tennessee Street, Eureka Street. Through travel/two-way travel will remain at all times at each location.

  • Crews continue to work on Park Avenue improvements weekdays and weekends 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A local detour is posted and sends traffic north around Sylvan Park.

  • Crews are pre-testing the roadway and pedestrian gates at the rail crossings weekdays 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., through August. Flaggers are onsite to assist traffic through the rail crossings. Please plan ahead and expect one to three minute delays at the crossings during testing.

At times, work throughout the corridor may be loud and cause vibration. Please remember construction is dynamic and the schedule is subject to change.

ABOUT THE ARROW PROJECT
The Arrow is scheduled to begin service in 2022 and will run between the San Bernardino Transit Center located at Rialto Avenue and E Street in Downtown San Bernardino adjacent to San Manuel Stadium and will terminate at the University of Redlands. The regional rail service will integrate with other modes of transportation such as cars, buses, and bicycles and will offer residents, businesses, and visitors a new option for live, work, and play.
