TRAIN TESTING UPDATE

September 2022

Service on the Arrow is expected to start in the Fall. Scheduled to start on Monday, September 12, crews will begin simulated service of the Arrow line weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. During this time, two DMUs will be on the tracks and will stop at each station every 30 minutes during peak-hour times (5:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.). During off-peak times (9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; 5:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.) one DMU will run every 60 minutes. Please note, there will be no passengers on board as this is still part of the train testing phase.

In compliance with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations, horns (two long, one short, one long) and bells will sound at street crossings throughout the corridor during training and testing. Once operations begin this Fall, the routine sounding of the train horn will be limited by the established quiet zones throughout the corridor.

First responder training is scheduled to occur at the Arrow Maintenance Facility in San Bernardino from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, Tuesday, September 13, Friday September 16 and Monday, September 19.

Please remember train testing is dynamic and the schedule may change.
