Redtail Ridge Updates in Preparation for the Tuesday, August 18th,
City Council Meeting

Hi Everyone,

A few updates as we prepare for the second, and final, Louisville city council hearing on Redtail Ridge this coming Tuesday, August 18th at 6 pm:

1. If you have anything to add to the letter you’ve already written, be sure to write to council again. (Council@LouisvilleCO.gov). If you have not written them yet – they need to hear from you! There will be an additional public comment period at the August 18 meeting as well. We’ll send out an email on Monday with more information about the structure of Tuesday’s meeting.

What is the Comprehensive Plan and why does the city take it so seriously that amending it requires a supermajority vote? For this, please see the very helpful Comprehensive Plan Fact Sheet on the No On Redtail Ridge website.

Bottom line: The Redtail Ridge application does NOT meet the criteria necessary to change the city’s Comprehensive Plan, a document created through hundreds of hours of staff expertise and citizen input.

3.  Chris Wheeler has written several articles examining the StorageTek property and the impact of the Redtail Ridge development from different angles. The most recent, Redtail Ridge: Fragile Fragments,” considers the role of site as a wildlife corridor. Keep an eye out on Saturday for a new story on the question of adding the site to Louisville’s open space portfolio.

4.  See “Power to the People on Redtail Ridge” by Cindy Bedell in the Friday edition of the Hometown Weekly, posted on the Press page of the NORR website.

Yes! Power to the People! Write, speak, stay informed! We can do this!
