This month, we proudly recognize International Women’s Day (3/8) and Women in Construction Week (3/2-3/8), celebrating the women who are making an impact in our industry.

At STC Safety, we are privileged to have a team of exceptional women who bring expertise, leadership, and innovation to the field of workplace safety. Their contributions help our clients create safer environments, strengthen compliance, and reduce risk.

We're highlighting two of our amazing team members and the impact they make on STC Safety every single day:

What inspired you to pursue a career in the construction and safety industry?

"I landed in the construction and safety industry by chance, but I’ve always been interested in construction. I find it fascinating how projects evolve from a vision into tangible results, especially when they turn out to be truly impressive."

What do you love most about your job and working in this industry?

"What I love most about my work is the strong client relationships and professional network I’ve built over time. The connections I’ve made, both with the people I work alongside and the industries I serve, have been incredibly rewarding. Every day presents a new opportunity to learn, tackle challenges, and find creative solutions."

What challenges have you faced as a woman in this field, and how have you overcome them?

"Earning a seat at the table. There is sometimes an assumption that women don't belong in the field, especially in the construction industry. I continue to overcome this bias by ensuring that I am a valuable resource when I show up to a project or provide other safety support."

What advice would you give to other women considering a career in construction or safety?

"Never stop learning. If you want to bring value to the position, you must continue learning about the different trades, emerging technologies, improved work processes, etc. It is a very dynamic industry, and the better you understand, the more relevant you will be."

Executive Insights: Ladders are essential but remain a leading cause of workplace injuries. OSHA consistently ranks ladder violations among its Top 10 Most Cited Standards, with falls being a major cause of serious injuries and fatalities.

Prevent Ladder Incidents with These Key Steps:

  • Choose the Right Ladder – Match the type and weight rating to the task.
  • Inspect Before Use – Check for cracks, loose rungs, and damage.
  • Maintain Three Points of Contact – Always have two hands and one foot (or vice versa) on the ladder.
  • Ensure a Stable Base – Avoid uneven or slippery surfaces.
  • Train Your Team – Proper training prevents misuse and reduces fall risks.

STC’s safety training programs help businesses build a strong safety culture, reduce accidents, and save lives. Invest in safety—protect your workforce.
