UNITED AGAINST HATE WEEK

Stand United: Join Redwood City’s United Against Hate Week

From October 19–25, our community will take part in United Against Hate Week — a time to stand together against bias and build understanding through connection and conversation. Events are happening across the community and include an introduction to the ballroom scene, an open mic at Cañada College, a unity walk and more.

Join us at the Downtown Library on October 20, 6–7:30pm for A Community Conversation on Respectful Dialogue. In this interactive event, participants will share stories, learn tools for communicating across differences and practice ways to stay engaged even when we disagree.

You can also get involved by displaying a “United Against Hate” poster available at the Downtown Library while supplies last, exploring our special reading list on empathy and inclusion, or attending other events throughout the week.

Together, we can make Redwood City a place where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected. Learn more at redwoodcity.org/unitedagainsthate

Programming is supported by Welcoming Redwood City and community partners.

Kick it with the Cops

We’re excited to welcome teens back to the Downtown Library for another Library After Dark during United Against Hate Week.

For Kick it with the Cops on Friday, October 24, come hang out with officers from the Redwood City Police Department, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol. It will be a fun night of free food, game tournaments, Teen Center open house, prizes and a chance to connect in a relaxed setting.
