LA SEMANA UNIDOS CONTRA EL ODIO

United Against Hate Week (Nov. 14-20, 2021) is a call for local civic action to stop the hate and implicit biases that are a dangerous threat to the safety and civility of our neighborhoods, towns and cities. Redwood City stands united against hate, and we hope you will too.
As a symbol of your solidarity, consider displaying a United Against Hate Week sign, available for pickup at all Redwood City Public Library locations. Or you may download and print here. You can also join us for one or more events (listed below) and on the United Against Hate page.

HONORING AND SERVING VETERANS

In honor of Veterans Day and every day, Redwood City Public Library is pleased to offer support to veterans in the community through library resources, counseling services, and other programming.
Featured resources available at the Library:

Veterans Connect @ the Library resource collection at the Downtown Library

VetNow from Brainfuse provides career and benefits assistance for veterans AND their family members, including live benefits navigator, resume and interview coaching for military-to-civilian career transitions, and other academic support tools.
- Veterans Resource bags containing CalVet handbooks and information about other local resources are available at the Downtown Library front desk

NEWS FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
|
|
Our next and final Book Donation Event for 2021 will be on Saturday, November 20 from 10am-12pm behind the Downtown Library. Your donations help us to continue resell items in our bookshop in the Redwood City Public Library, our book kiosk at the Redwood Shores library branch or via our Amazon shop. All revenue is used to fund Redwood City Public Library Events like Little Learners, the Summer Reading Challenge and many more.
Last but not least, Holiday season has started! We just stocked up our bookstore in the Downtown Library with holiday themed books and great gift ideas. Come see us!

Pick up a materials kits from November 8-12. Join us live on Saturday, November 13 from 2-3pm over Zoom using the QR code provided in the material kits.

Children from 3 to 5 years of age are invited to enjoy stories, songs and crafts.

Share, take, and start seedlings for fall and winter vegetable crops at this outdoor event at Redwood Shores Branch Library.

Online Stories are pre-recorded video series read by librarians in English and Spanish.

Cardinal Free Clinics provide free transitional medical services for all adults regardless of immigration status, insurance, or ability to pay.
WED NOV 17, 4pm
A virtual Early Learners storytime filled with recorded stories, activities and tips on early literacy. For families with children from birth to 2.
THU NOV 18, 10am
Join us for in person stories in Roselli Park (on the south side of the Downtown Library).
TUE NOV 23, 10am
Join us for Storytimes in the Park: Magical Bridge Playground! On the 4th Tuesday of each month a librarian will be at Magical Bridge Playground.

- Curbside drop-in service for holds pick-up is available at the Downtown Library during open hours
- Bookdrops are open to accept returns
