Redwood Ceramics Program
As a discipline within Redwood's esteemed visual arts program, Ceramics fosters students’ abilities to create, experience, analyze and reorganize, thereby encouraging intuitive and emotional as well as verbal responses. Ceramics is a functional, sculptural and historical medium emphasizing concepts of three dimensional design where instruction includes the use of the potter’s wheel, clay hand construction techniques, surface decoration techniques and kiln firing.

In support of this increasingly popular course offering, this past Fall, the Foundation approved a grant for three new kilns which are actively being used nearly every day by the 160 Ceramics students! And this spring a second grant was approved for new electric potter's wheels to replace the broken and outdated wheels. Thanks to your generous contributions, this new equipment will benefit the growing number of Ceramics students now and for years to come and is yet another example of what makes Redwood a special place for our students, staff and the larger community!

Scholarships Awarded!
A GIANT appreciation to our Redwood High School Foundation Scholarship Committee co-chairs, Bryn Argov and Rob Leonard, and the entire Scholarship Committee for their time and commitment through the recent scholarship application review and evaluation process where they awarded our 2022 scholarships to 28 seniors who demonstrated remarkable character and determination as well as significant academic achievement. The recipients will be celebrated during an awards ceremony on May 25th.

The 2022 scholarship funds, totaling $135,000, were made possible through the generous support of parents, alumni, faculty and friends through contributions made to the Redwood High School Foundation as well as three family-directed scholarships.
