Lake County EDC Awarded $650K Catalyst Grant

to Build Healthcare Workforce

The North Coast Health Improvement and Information Network (NCHIIN), Sector Investment Coordinator for the Health & Caregiving Sector, is pleased to announce that Lake County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) is one of ten projects awarded a Catalyst Grant through the Redwood Region Resilient, Inclusive, Sustainable Economy (RISE) initiative.

This $650,000 investment will support pre-development work to launch the Health Education and Regional Training (HEART) Hub — a healthcare education and simulation center designed to address workforce shortages and expand training opportunities in Lake County and the greater Redwood Region.

Advancing Regional Prosperity and Health Careers

Aligned with the RISE 10-Year Regional Roadmap, the HEART Hub will strengthen the healthcare talent pipeline through simulation-based learning, advanced training programs, and strong partnerships with local providers and educational institutions. The center will serve as a hub for career growth and healthcare innovation in the region.

Project implementation begins May 2025, with completion expected by September 2026. LCEDC and its partners remain committed to collaborating across sectors to maximize the long-term impact of this transformative project.
