GRANT NEWS

Redwood would like to thank the Charles H. Dater Foundation for a $50,000 grant. Their generosity will help us to complete renovations and other improvements benefiting the children and youth we serve. The Foundation has supported Redwood in the past, and we are honored they chose to support our mission once again.

AUGMENTATIVE AND ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION AWARENESS MONTH

October is Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month. Redwood offers AAC evaluations with a speech-language pathologist for individuals who may benefit from using AAC.

What is AAC? It is used to describe the various methods of communication that can help people who face challenges with verbal communication. AAC methods vary and may be personalized to meet each individual's needs, including sign language, picture communication, speech-generating devices and writing/typing.
