Dear TC Families,

As the new year approaches, let's take a moment to reflect on 2022.

The past few months at Thornton Creek has brought the return of many meaningful traditions: parent volunteers in the classroom, field trips and field study, in-person assembly at school and in-person school events like Curriculum Night and the Book Swap.

What makes these events so important to our school? You! Or, more specifically, the community you weave by showing up, by coming together to connect and delight in each other's company, by giving your time and energy to ensure this is a warm, welcoming school where every child can thrive.

From the bottom of our hearts, TCPG thanks you for your generosity and for being a part of our school community!

With just a few hours left in our TCPG Annual Appeal fundraising campaign, here's where we stand:

Total amount raised: over $93,968!

Percent toward goal of $175,000: 54%

While the official Annual Appeal fundraising campaign ends at the stroke of midnight on December 31st, please know you are welcome to give all year round. The Paypal link will remain active, and you can always visit thorntoncreekparentgroup.org/fundraising for more information.

Finally, we hope you have enjoyed our first ever Family Expedition on dragonflies. We have developed quite a fondness for Skimmy the Dragonfly, and I, for one, am not ready to say goodbye to him just yet. So, we've created a game. In every newsletter going forward, we will include a quick clue or riddle as the where you and your kids can find Skimmy who will be hiding somewhere in or around school. Here's what our pal Skimmy looks like in crocheted form.
