This month, Centre Foundation will award $164,164 in grants to 42 local nonprofits through 17 donor-created endowments. We also launched the Equitable and Inclusive Communities Fund, awarding $2,250 to four organizations advancing equity and DEIB initiatives.

Equitable and Inclusive Communities Fund: Advancing Equity, Leadership, and
DEIB Solutions

Centre Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its Equitable and Inclusive Communities Fund, created to advance equity-centered leadership and capacity building and address Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) issues in Centre County.
Four local organizations have received grants totaling $2,250 to support community-driven programs focused on equity and inclusion. These grants will fund projects that uplift populations facing systemic barriers, including geographically underserved communities, communities of color, immigrants, refugees, English language learners, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+ communities, and other underrepresented groups.

Welcome Nathaniel Rasmussen to Centre Foundation!
We’re excited to announce that Nathaniel Rasmussen has joined Centre Foundation as our new Community Impact Director. Nathaniel brings over 23 years of experience from Schlow Centre Region Library, where he led IT Services and played a pivotal role in transforming the library into a regional change agent.
Nathaniel is recognized for building strong partnerships, fostering community connections, and driving innovative solutions. His expertise in systems thinking, team training, grant writing, and collaborative program development will be invaluable as he works to implement impactful initiatives and strengthen community partnerships.
Outside of work, Nathaniel serves on several nonprofit boards and enjoys helping regional organizations implement sustainable technology solutions. We’re thrilled to have him on our team!

Centre Foundation Awards Over $164,000 in Grants to
42 Local Organizations
This December, the Foundation will award grants to local nonprofits from 17 unique endowment funds. Donors established the funds to support various causes and geographical areas within Centre County.
Every fall, eligible organizations are invited to apply for funding from these endowment funds. The awarded grants support various programs, focusing on education, health and social services, equitable and inclusive communities, animal welfare, environmental conservation, and the performing arts.

Year-End Charitable Giving Tax
We are a few weeks away from switching the calendars over to the new year, which means now is the time to make your year-end donations. Please note the following details and deadlines:
- Online transactions must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
- Phone or in-person transactions must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024.
