Dear Friends,

As 2025 concludes, I’m proud to share a significant milestone for Community Housing Development Corporation: 35 years of service advancing community transformation beginning in North Richmond, California. Our work continues to have impact - in affordable housing development, access to financing for electric vehicle purchases for climate sustainability, and economic opportunity for low-income individuals, businesses, and families.

This year, we’re nearing completion of Legacy Court in North Richmond and Friendship Senior Housing in West Oakland, the first of many partnerships with faith-based organizations. We made progress on the goal to transform the Las Deltas public housing site into new senior and single-family housing with community amenities prioritizing local residents. 

Funding challenges remain for non-profit community developers and the communities we serve.

Working-class families face the brunt of the affordability crisis. Our food programs, senior services, community services and resources are critical. Families in our multi-family developments face a loss of housing subsidies with further devastating impact. 

With your continued support, CHDC will remain committed to addressing these challenges holistically. We’ve built a legacy of resilience that continues.
