Honoring Dean Kandi Turley-Ames and Announcing a Leadership Transition

After fifteen years of dedicated service, we share that Dean Kandi Turley-Ames has departed the College of Arts and Letters, having accepted a new role as Vice Provost of Educational Outreach and Rural Engagement at ISU. While her leadership in CAL is coming to a close, we are pleased that the university will continue to benefit from her experience and commitment to education in this new capacity.

Throughout her time with CAL, Kandi has been a steadfast advocate for students and a trusted, supportive leader for faculty and staff. Her work has helped strengthen academic programs, expand opportunities for students, and foster a college culture rooted in care, collaboration, and academic excellence. The impact of her fifteen years of service can be felt across the college and in the many lives she has influenced along the way.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Kandi for her dedication to the College of Arts and Letters and the lasting contributions she has made to our community. While she will be greatly missed within CAL, we wish her every success in this next chapter.

As we move forward, Katherine Reedy, Chair of the Department of Anthropology and Languages, will be serving as Interim Dean. We appreciate her willingness to step into this role and support the College of Arts and Letters during this transition.
