The Christine Center Celebrates 40 Years of Spiritual Deepening
|
|
On October 11, 2020, the Christine Center celebrated its 40th Anniversary. Unfortunately, our celebratory plans needed to be postponed until next year due to Covid-19. However, you will soon be receiving our commemorative newsletter by mail highlighting our humble beginnings and plans that we have embarked upon to Preserve our Heritage for the future.
The Christine Center was founded as a place of retreat supported by the vision of Sr. Virginia Barta, OSF: “We are One.” Sr. Virginia understood the value of silence and nature. She felt guided to a 251-acre farm in Willard WI. The farm provided an existing barn and silo and it was within these structures that the Christine Center became a reality.
We are thankful to the Legacy of Sisters, friends, donors, and volunteers, who continue to support our vision of
Spiritual Deepening for Global Transformation.

Prayer of Unification
In the name of the One God,
Mother-Father of us All,
And of Everything.
We are One Mind
In the Light of Holy Wisdom;
We are One Heart in the Radiance
Of Pure Love;
We are One Body in the
Resonance of Divine Power.
All of Creation is One,
In Light and Love and Power,
As it was in the beginning,
Is now and ever shall be. Amen.

PRESERVE OUR HERITAGE
CAMPAIGN GOAL $100,000
Greer Foundation
$25,000 Matching Grant Challenge
We want to express our gratitude to all of our donors who have supported us during our temporary March 13 closure. The Center is again open for onsite and private retreats; however, we continue to be in need of funds for hermitage repairs and operations. Time and weather have taken a toll on our beloved buildings. Major repairs and renovations have already been made to Ahimsa, Basil, Sun, Rumi, and Shekinah, the home of the Sisters, with donor designated funds.
On October 11, 2020, we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Christine Center. To mark this milestone, we are announcing a $100,000 Preserve Our Heritage Campaign, which will allow us to continue with restorations and maintain operations through this fiscal year. We are hopeful to gather next year for our postponed 40th celebration.
We also have wonderful news, which will assist us with the launch of our campaign.
Carl Greer has been a presenter and loyal supporter of the Christine Center for many years. The Greer family understands the importance of sustaining this woodland sanctuary as a resource for future retreatants. The Greer Foundation would like to invite other donors to join with them. They have again generously announced a challenge grant of $25,000 to assist us with our campaign. This grant will match each dollar we are able to raise up to $25,000.
Please consider making a gift, which will then be doubled to assist us with the Preservation of our Heritage.
Thank you for your generous spirit!

Ever evolving, this ancient oracle of being is a revered guide into living in greater harmony with the cosmos. It has been used by individuals, communities and by couples to aid in understanding and moving through the deeper challenges of living.
Above all, The I Ching is a guide to greater acceptance and deeper loving. Our focus in this weekend is on its application as a profound tool for relationships. You will be taught how to commune with and apply these insightful words of wisdom. Join us and give your relationship a loving gift of deeper communion. No experience is necessary.
Please bring a copy of A Guide to the I Ching, 3rd Edition by Carol K. Anthony.
Cheryl Long and Ron Moor have lived lives of service as therapists, teachers, spiritual guides, explorers of the world’s wisdom traditions and students of the I Ching.

The Christine Center’s 2020 Fall Mens’ Retreat
with Rahjta Ren
October 30 – November 1, 2020
$150, plus meals and lodging
Join us in this exploration of heart consciousness; a gathering of like-minds and openheartedness. Whether you are steeped within years or decades of personal practice or new to the journey within heart consciousness, this weekend retreat is an interactive immersion into the gifts that await you within the boundlessness of your own heart.
This retreat is for men within our society and culture that seek healthy masculine and feminine balance as a steward for our collective healing and the emotional, intelligent advancement of humanity.
Our group sojourn focuses on integrating ever-growing shifts from intellect to heart, and how these insights emanate into our personal lives. You will experience inspiring methods and practices of dissolving illusions of separateness. We peer into how we must discern a balance between our conditioned experience of seeing separateness and “feeling” holistic interconnectedness and interdependence.

A personal message from Rahjta:
It is with my immense gratitude to the Christine Center for enabling this wonderful opportunity for our fall Men’s Retreat!
The essence of this weekend retreat is to foster and inspire an ongoing practice of living in, and as one’s heart. Our heart produces resonance, which is a palpable and definable, scientifically measured energetic field which emanates from within all of us. Integrally woven as our vibrational field of heart, will be inspiring explorations into music and tonal sound.
Whether a novice or highly skilled, I encourage you to bring musical instruments enhancing this aspect of our weekend of communing. I have dedicated much time and effort to the development, design and precious flow of our weekend together. As a day-to-day practice, my devotion is steeped in maintaining this subtle yet profound balance of heart and intellect. I gleefully look forward to sharing our depth and breath of time together!
In Great Appreciation,
Rahjta

Exploring Stress in Our Sacred Bodies through Free Form Dance & Movement
November 11-13, 2020
with Adina Joy Levitt
$150, plus meals and lodging
Adina has woven her shamanic training with her love of Free Form Dance & Movement to create this ceremonial form of reconnecting with the body as a sacred tool to dive into the mystery of our very beings. In a world where so many of us feel stressed in our bodies, we can learn to stop and listen to the wisdom that our bodies hold by carefully exploring both our bodies’ biology and simultaneously entering the unseen realms. With eyes half closed in the candle-lit meditation hall we will use dance as a means to tap into this exploratory journey to receive guidance from our bodies, ancestors, healing guides, and Future Selves.
Instead of learning steps to a specific dance routine, Free Form Dance gives us unlimited access to interact with our unique life stories. Our stressful situations become places for us to learn from, moving away from a survival mentality, unraveling myths from our ancestry, and learning to dance in the flow that resides in and around us all.
Adina completed a three and a half year Shamanic Apprenticeship and has participated in medicine dances in forests, outdoor arbors, and parks in order to connect in a conscious way with the Earth, her body, and the larger interconnection of the Universe.
No previous dance experience needed. Participants will have time to journal and process their work with the group during the retreat.
