New Year's Review & Preview

Too often, we create half-hearted New Year’s resolutions that are soon forgotten. Try this exercise instead as a way to promote growth from the previous year and intention in the new year:

Remembering 2024

1. What was your biggest triumph in 2024?

2. What was the smartest decision you made?

3. What was the greatest lesson you learned?

4. What was the biggest risk you took?

5. Outside of your family, who were the three people who had the greatest impact on your life?

Creating 2025

1. What would you like as your biggest triumph in 2025?

2. What would you be most happy about completing?

3. What major indulgence do you want to experience?

4. What are you most looking forward to learning?

5. What brings you the most joy, and how are you going to do or have more of that this year?

Tip of the Month

A key to happiness is our ability to stay present. It takes practice and patience, just like learning any other skill.

One strategy is to paraphrase what someone else says as they're speaking to you. It's a way to practice active listening. Another is to add the words “now” or “right now” at the end of your thoughts to ground yourself in the moment.
