Our Vision Statement: ‘With the heart and mind of Christ, we transform the world.’

Reflections from our Pastors

Thursday, December 18, 2025

As the days of Advent soon come to a close, it’s important that we take some time to slow down the pace and reflect on the meaning of the season for each of us. Reading the Gospel messages for each of the four Sundays of Advent may offer lots to ponder.

First Sunday of Advent: Stay awake! And be prepared for God’s presence in your life, for God speaks to us in many ways.

Second Sunday of Advent: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Repent (Metanoia), means to go beyond the mind that you have. To repent means to begin seeing differently, to begin thinking differently, both of which lead to acting and living differently. To repent is a deeper sense of a complete change in one's purpose, thinking, and actions. How might you be called to repentance?

Third Sunday of Advent: "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?" and "What did you go out to the desert to see? A prophet? What is your own prophetic voice in the world? What prophets do you go out to see?

Fourth Sunday of Advent:

“The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,

Joseph, son of David,

do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home.

For it is through the Holy Spirit

that this child has been conceived in her.

She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus…”

Are you paying attention to your dreams as you listen for the will of God in your life?

The messages of our Gospels speak to us differently each time they are read. Take some time to sit with them and see what they bring to you in this season.

May Christmas be a time of love, and growth and whatever your heart needs.

Blessings,

Mother Rosean

Note: Our pastors will be enjoying time with family and friends over the Christmas Holidays. Tuesday and Thursday reflections will not be sent during these two weeks. (December 21- January 2) They will resume again on Tuesday, January 6.

Christmas Poinsettias on the Altar

You are invited to remember family and friends this Christmas with a suggested donation of $12 for poinsettias that we will display right before Christmas.

Your name and intentions (“In memory of …” “In celebration of …”, etc.) will be listed in the next bulletin. If you would like a poinsettia to take home or to a shut-in, they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis after the Christmas services of all three congregations are over (Christmas after our Mass)

If you would like to remember or celebrate someone with poinsettias, please email marymagdalafc@gmail.com by Friday, December 19. Please place your check in the offertory basket or donate online Here.

Advent Grocery Card Project

During Advent, the MoM Social Justice team is sponsoring a project of collecting grocery cards for our Pastors to distribute to folks needing immediate and short-term assistance with gas or food.

The need for this help has increased with insecurity faced by low-income families in light of interrupted SNAP benefits and other government assistance programs.

If you are willing to help with this project, please purchase grocery gift cards for King Soopers or Safeway in denominations of $10 or $25. Please label the card packaging with the denomination and drop the cards in the Offertory collection basket at church on Sunday.

Coming Up: Holiday Office Closure

The Trinity building offices will be closed from December 24-January 1.

Office voicemails and emails will be checked periodically for all 3 churches.

This closure over the Christmas break allows the staff for our three churches time to spend with family and friends during the holiday season. It also provides a chance for staff to rest and return to work refreshed in the new year.
