Today, we celebrate St. Monica’s son, St. Augustine. Oh, this wayward boy who made good! Following yesterday’s reflection, we know St. Monica would spend long hours in prayer for her son to change his ways and straighten out his life. Eventually, he done good.
Augustine was baptized and would eventually become a Bishop with great formative influence on the early Church. His many writings would instruct and spire to the modern day. Like Augustine, we know not the day nor the hour of the Lord’s return, so let’s make good today!
Lord, help us to leave behind our past and sinful lives. With your grace strengthen me to dedicate my life to you, preparing for your return with a joyful soul.
REMINDER: Confessions will not be offered this Saturday, August 29.
