Reflections with Fr. Mark
Today, we celebrate the Memorial of St. Agatha who was a virgin and martyr in the third century.  Her persecutors gruesomely cut off her breasts, but she displayed a courage beyond her age accepting martyrdom rather than walk away from her faith.

You and I may not face such dramatic instances of martyrdom, but we do have moments of fear when we may doubt that the Lord is nearby.  Our scriptures today and the story of Agatha and other martyrs should give us the courage to face whatever may come our way in our journey of life and faith.

Spiritual Reflection: “The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid.”

Blessings of love,

Fr. Mark
