Today, we celebrate the first named American saint, Mother Cabrini or St. Francis Xavier Cabrini. She founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart after being rejected by other religious orders. By doing this she showed her determination and firmness of purpose that would eventually allow her to spread missions across North America.
Mother Cabrini would even make her way to the City of the Angels, Los Angeles, in the hills of Burbank where she would reside for some time overseeing one of her many projects. If you are interested, you may go visit her shrine at the parish of St. Francis Xavier Cabrini in Burbank.
Through rejection, she found her mission in faith and life. If you ever feel rejection, let that become your inspiration to start another path to achieve greater things.
The journey continues…
