Reflections with Fr. Mark
Dear Parishioners,

Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Bartholomew, one of the Apostles.  We know almost nothing about him from Scripture; however, there are some who identify him with Nathanael and one with integrity.

From the gospel for today we are told that Nathanael recognized that Jesus was the Son of God. Nathanael’s questioning whether anything “good” can come from Nazareth reveals the rivalry between the two towns.  LOL!  But, don’t we all have our little biases?

Though we know nothing of Bartholomew we do know he had a front seat to see the glory of God in Jesus.  Jesus knows your name and reveals God’s glory to you in His love for you.  He calls you by name and invites you into relationship with love itself in the person of Jesus through the powerful working of the Holy Spirit.

May our response be the desire for this most important relationship.

May the Lord bless and keep you and lift you up from any anxiety you may be experiencing.

Blessings,

Fr. Mark
