I was contemplating a picture posted online of Jesus with hand extended amid a storm. The caption read, “Focus on me NOT the storm.” It reminds me how often the apostles feared even with Jesus in the midst. As we listen to the words of Scripture today: “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water” we can place ourselves in the scene and ask ourselves who or what are we focusing on in the midst of
One of Our Lady’s titles is: Mary, Star of the Sea. She is our
to sail toward during our storms. She is the guiding light that leads us to the safe embrace of her Son, Jesus. As we continue this stormy journey in this time of pandemic may we each be consoled by the calming presence of the Holy Spirit carrying us to the arms of comfort in our Lord.
