Reflections with Fr. Mark
We sing O Radiant Dawn in our O Antiphons today as we celebrate this first day of winter and the darkest day of the year.

They say that it’s darkest before the dawn and certainly this has been a dark year for all of us, especially those who have suffered loss during these months of pandemic.

Let us pray together: “O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice: come and shine on those who dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death.”

We now prepare for the coming Light!

The journey continues…calling on the Key of David to unlock our stony hearts and enlighten them with His healing presence in these days of imprisonment.

We have all experienced a very difficult year suffering through the many aspects and effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We have all had to sacrifice and will continue to sacrifice in the coming year. Our Parish is striving to keep up with normal operating costs with limited resources coming in during these lean moments. We thank you for your continued generosity and support.

During this past year, as you know, we had to cancel our greatest fundraiser, the Annual Fiesta, and will need to cancel again in Spring 2021 due to our current circumstances that will not improve by this Spring. Last April, our Holy Week and Easter celebrations were cancelled due to the onset of the pandemic. This was a great loss of income to the parish.

Please continue to remember your parish in your giving plans, especially if you are considering any charitable donations prior to the end of the year. Reflect on how you can further support your parish in the coming future as well.

If you would like to make a contribution, it can be mailed to the Pastoral Office, dropped in the office mailbox, or submitted online. Visit for details. You can also call Vanco at 1-800-675-7430 Monday-Friday between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm to make your contribution by credit card over the phone (Our parish client ID is ES11182).

On behalf of all of us on staff at St. Luke, we are grateful for your prayers and financial support for your community. We pray that you will have a blessed Christmas and receive the blessing of Christ in your heart and your home. Be assured of our love and prayers for each one of you. -Fr. Mark
