Reflections with Fr. Mark
Dear Parishioners,

The story of Job reminds us of a man who loved God and knowledge that God loves us even when we are facing seeming impossible troubles or trials in our own lives.  Even people of faith struggle when they encounter suffering, loss and undeserved tribulations.  We can take inspiration from the circumstances that Job found himself in while keeping the faith.

Today, we celebrate Saint Lorenzo Ruiz and his companions who became martyrs for the faith solely because they were Christians in 17th century Japan.  Born in the Philippines, Lorenzo was a Dominican educated young boy who would eventually marry and have children.  He was falsely accused of murder when he fled to Japan on a ship in the company of missionaries.  Ultimately, he was arrested and tortured and martyred for his faith in Christ, unwilling to renounce this love.

What sacrifices are you willing to make for your faith?

The journey continues…keeping the faith!
